Minibus Hit by Freight Train in Gunung Putri, Bogor; Driver Killed

A minibus was struck by a freight train in Gunung Putri, Bogor, West Java. The driver, identified as I, died. Gunung Putri Police Chief Kompol Aulia Robby Kartika Putra told journalists on Sunday (24 May 2026): ‘An accident occurred between a train and a minibus resulting in the death of the minibus driver.’ Robby stated the minibus with number plate F-1969-KS was thrown a considerable distance after being hit by the train. He added that the minibus was unoccupied at the time of the incident. ‘Gunung Putri police officers arrived at the scene and confirmed the minibus was severely damaged and displaced far from the road,’ Robby said. Inspector Ares Rachman of Bogor Regency Traffic Police stated the accident occurred when the minibus was crossing the railway on Saturday (23 May), as a train travelling from Nambo to Cibinong collided with it. Ares said the driver sustained severe injuries and was taken to Sentra Medika Hospital in Cibinong, where he was pronounced dead.
