JAKARTA — A minibus driver identified as RM, aged 28, was killed in a stabbing attack by a man identified as AF, aged 35, in Sukapura, Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Thursday evening, 12 March 2026.

The head of the Cilincing Police Precinct, AKP Bobi Subasri, stated that police had apprehended the suspect AF.

“He has been secured. We have already questioned three to four witnesses,” said Bobi when confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday, 13 March 2026.

“Essentially, the victim and perpetrator had a quarrel, after which the perpetrator immediately stabbed the victim,” he explained.

He added that police are currently conducting further investigation into the incident. He also stated that the relationship between the victim and perpetrator remains unclear.

“We are still looking into it,” he added.

The incident was reported on Instagram account @wargajakarta.id, with the narrative suggesting that the victim was stabbed by a gangster. Shortly afterwards, RM was seen collapsing onto the road and was immediately surrounded by other residents.

RM was subsequently evacuated to the roadside by residents because the road needed to be cleared for vehicle traffic.
