Mini Pocong Figurines Found in Mysterious Package in Lendah, Kulon Progo
Residents of Padukuhan Bangeran, Kalurahan Bumirejo, Kapanewon Lendah in Kulon Progo were startled by a mysterious package containing two miniature pocong figurines. The recipient stated he had not ordered any such item.
“I didn’t place any order and didn’t expect a package, but a courier suddenly arrived around 9.30am WIB delivering a prepaid parcel,” Sujarwo told reporters on Tuesday (26 May 2026).
Photos sent by Sujarwo showed the package appeared unremarkable, but its contents shocked his wife. “When my wife opened it, she found a pair of pocong figurines and screamed in surprise,” he said.
The package contained two small pocong toys along with a note explaining: “We sell small pocong figurines for horror-themed room decorations. 100% no supernatural or mystical elements. If you did not purchase this or it’s a friend’s prank, burn it. Do not use for illegal negative purposes.”
The parcel was sent from Pacitan, East Java, with no sender’s phone number listed—only a home address and name. Sujarwo claimed he has no known conflicts with anyone. Locals and police viewed the figurines, which were subsequently burned in front of residents.
“I didn’t file a report, but officers from Lendah Police Station were present when it was opened. If another similar package arrives tomorrow, I’ll report it. I burned it because I was worried people would get scared,” he said.
Separately, Kulon Progo Police Public Relations Chief Iptu Sarjoko confirmed officers visited the scene. He stated the recipient had not yet filed an official report.
“Officers attended the site. The package did contain pocong figurines. For now, the recipient has not lodged a report,” Sarjoko said, adding the public should not be unduly concerned about the delivery.
