'Mini Basket' for the young

JAKARTA (JP): The mini basketball tournament, which was popular in Indonesia in the mid-1970s but then declined due to lack of sponsorship, is to be revived in the form of the 'Energo Challenge' competition.

The event is sponsored by Friesche Vlag Indonesia (FVI), which is launching its new product 'Energo'. The theme of the competition will be 'Be a winner every day'. Twenty-four elementary schools will be involved, Ary Sudarsono said yesterday. Ary, a former national basketball player and an international referee, said: "We are now working to coach elementary school-age children in the sport with cooperation of (FVI)."

The main goal of these activities, according to Ary, is to support the development of healthy activities and intelligent children (rsl).
