ANKARA (DPA): Rescue workers retrieved the body of a worker
from a coal mine in Bolu in northwestern Turkey following a cave-
in five days ago, the Anadolu news agency reported yesterday.
Five miners had been trapped at a depth of 70 metres after the
roof collapsed in the early hours of Tuesday. One was rescued 16
hours later, while the bodies of three others were removed
Wednesday.
In 1993, a fire-damp explosion left six workers dead in the
same mine, while a fire claimed the lives of two people.
