The mineral and strategic commodity exchange is planned to launch on 1 January 2027. This follows the approval of the Bill amending Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK). Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, confirmed the timeline at the Parliamentary Complex on Friday (5/6/2026). He stated that more detailed provisions regarding governance, market structure, and supervisory mechanisms will be outlined in a Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK), which is targeted for completion within three months after the law comes into effect. Misbakhun also indicated that Commission XI will soon open registrations for the mineral exchange’s supervisors and commissioners. He assured that the exchange would be operational on 1 January 2027, with preparations extending through to full operations. Misbakhun affirmed that Indonesia would develop the best concept for the commodity exchange, drawing on examples from other countries to create a trusted, credible, and benchmark-setting institution. He further emphasised that the mineral exchange will be a distinct entity from PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), with both having separate functions.
