MIND ID to Ensure an Integrated Mineral Value Chain from Upstream to Downstream

The Indonesia Mining Industry Holding, MIND ID, ensures management of national mineral resources is integrated from upstream to downstream. This step is aimed at strengthening downstream processing while creating added value for the national economy. Corporate Secretary MIND ID, Pria Utama, said MIND ID acts as a strategic active holding by integrating mining, processing, and social responsibility programmes across the group’s entities. The integration is designed to build a sustainable national mineral industry ecosystem. ‘MIND ID consistently unites various downstream initiatives across the group from upstream to downstream. This integration is important so that the management of mineral resources does not stop at mining activities, but is able to create greater added value for the national economy,’ Pria said at a media iftar gathering in Jakarta, quoted Friday (6/3/2026). The downstream programmes run by all group members are designed to be interconnected in a single national mineral value chain. The scheme strengthens domestic mineral processing and drives more optimal economic impact for the country. In the upstream sector, MIND ID applies the Good Mining Practice principle from pre-mining, production, to post-mining. This approach keeps operational activities in line with environmental preservation and biodiversity protection in the area of operation. Ecosystem protection is the foundation for creating sustainable value-added industry. Mine management also considers the balance between resource utilization and environmental sustainability. On the downstream side, MIND ID develops various strategic projects that act as drivers of the national mineral value chain. These projects include Module & Pack (M&P) Plant facilities and Cell Plant Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) in Karawang as part of developing the electric vehicle battery ecosystem. The development of the downstream industry is also pursued through the construction of processing and refining facilities for bauxite–alumina–aluminium in Mempawah, West Kalimantan. MIND ID is also expanding coal logistics facilities along the Tanjung Enim–Kramasan corridor to strengthen the efficiency of the energy industry supply chain. ‘For MIND ID, downstreaming for the nation’s welfare means ensuring that every mineral resource managed can deliver added value for the national economy, strengthen industrial self-reliance, and improve the welfare of communities around operation areas,’ said Pria.
