MIND ID Targets Gold Production Increase to 31.7 Tonnes in 2026
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The state-owned mining industry holding MIND ID has set a fairly optimistic target for the performance of its holding members in 2026. For example, for the gold commodity, the company targets a 6% production increase to 31.7 tonnes from 29.9 tonnes of gold in 2025.
MIND ID’s President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin stated that MIND ID positions 2026 as a strategic foundation to strengthen the sustainability and optimisation of the company’s portfolio value.
“For gold, PT Antam and PT Freeport Indonesia, MIND ID targets an increase to 6% supported by improved operational performance,” said Maroef during a Hearing with Commission XII of the House of Representatives, on Monday (13/4/2026).
Meanwhile, for Antam’s ferronickel, it is targeted to rise 14% to 18,400 tonnes. Then for the aluminium commodity, for 2026, MIND ID has set a target of 275,000 tonnes with a focus on operational stabilisation.
Next, for the coal commodity through PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), it is targeted to increase 5% to 49.5 million tonnes from the 2025 realisation of 47.2 million tonnes. This reflects the stability of demand and the company’s production optimisation efforts.
Furthermore, for bauxite ore through Antam, it is targeted to increase by 89% to 5.3 million wet metric tonnes. This aligns with MIND ID’s ongoing bauxite downstreaming strategy.
Then, for nickel matte through PT Vale Indonesia (PTVI), the target is set at 68,000 tonnes, in line with the maintenance plans for the Sorowako plant of PT Vale Indonesia.
Meanwhile, nickel ore from PT Antam and PT Vale Indonesia is set to rise significantly by 33% to 24.4 million wet metric tonnes, driven by the start of production operations in the Bahodopi and Pomalaa blocks owned by PT Vale Indonesia.
“For the tin commodity from PT Timah, it shows strong growth of 63% to 29,100 tonnes, demonstrating the results of PT Timah’s operational performance improvement initiatives,” he said.
Furthermore, Maroef assessed that overall, 2026 reflects MIND ID’s focus on strengthening downstream processing, increasing efficiency, and creating sustainable added value.
“With this foundation, we are optimistic that MIND ID can continue to contribute significantly to the national economy and create long-term value for all stakeholders,” he said.
