MIND ID Showcases Circular Economy Practices at Invirotech 2026

Holding Industri Pertambangan Indonesia, MIND ID, presented a booth titled ‘MINERALive: Mining that Enlivens’ at the Invirotech 2026 event organised by the Ministry of Environment. Minister of Environment Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat stressed that businesses have a crucial role in promoting the adoption of clean technology and accelerating the implementation of a circular economy to address environmental challenges. ‘The business world has an important role in implementing clean technology, improving environmental compliance, and accelerating the circular economy,’ Jumhur said at the opening of Invirotech 2026 on Thursday. He added that innovation and technology must continue to be developed to provide real solutions to environmental problems while supporting industries in fulfilling their responsibilities. ‘INDO ENVIROTECH is a space that brings together ideas with needs, technology with field problems, innovation with policy, and commitment with implementation,’ he stated. According to him, technology must deliver tangible benefits to both the industrial sector and society. During the event, the Environment Minister visited MIND ID’s booth, which showcased various environmental management programmes based on circular economy principles together with its group members. The presence of the MIND ID Group at this event is part of an effort to demonstrate real practices in waste management that not only aim to reduce environmental impact but also create economic added value for communities. MIND ID emphasised that properly managed waste can become a new resource beneficial to the environment while opening up economic opportunities. In the booth, MIND ID displayed three main areas representing an integrated waste management approach. The first area featured an organic waste processing programme using maggots, which has been implemented in various operational regions. During Invirotech 2026, organic waste collected from visitors was processed directly using maggots, resulting in reduced waste volume and the production of organic fertiliser, with results presented openly. Visitors also received organic fertiliser as an educational tool and an invitation to preserve environmental sustainability. The second area featured a demonstration of plastic waste management using a plastic press and plastic crusher, representing the implementation of waste bank programmes in communities. Visitors could participate by depositing plastic waste, which was then processed as part of the recycling process. Additionally, 3D printing technology was showcased to represent the utilisation of inorganic waste into craft products with economic added value. This innovation demonstrates that waste can be processed into new raw materials, opening up business opportunities for communities. At the top of the booth, MIND ID presented an installation themed ‘cloudy skies and clear skies’ as a symbol of the company’s commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable environment. The installation represents the long-term goal of the various waste management programmes being implemented, namely creating a better environmental quality for future generations. MIND ID considers waste management an essential part of the mining industry’s transformation towards more sustainable practices. The company also hopes for increased public support for strengthening environmental management practices based on innovation and technology. For MIND ID, mining is not solely about mineral production but also about ensuring that every process makes a positive contribution to the environment and society. In line with this, Jumhur stressed that development and environmental protection should not be pitted against each other. ‘Building Indonesia does not mean ignoring the environment. Protecting the environment also does not mean forgetting development. Do not pit development against the environment,’ he asserted.
