MIND ID Group Distributes 5,322 Scholarships to Build a Golden Generation
MIND ID, together with its subsidiaries, has consistently supported the realisation of Indonesia’s Golden Generation through social investment in education within the company’s operational areas. Throughout 2025, the MIND ID Group has awarded 5,322 scholarships, provided learning assistance to 13,388 students, delivered training to 408 teachers, offered vocational and skills training to 1,944 individuals, and upgraded 389 educational facilities and infrastructure units. These programmes form part of the company’s strategy to build superior human resources ready to support the future development of Indonesia’s civilisation.
One of the flagship programmes is MINDucation: Empowering Coastal Students. This initiative is part of MIND ID’s efforts, in collaboration with PT Timah, to expand educational opportunities for students in coastal areas and remote islands. Since 2000, PT Timah, through the Pemali Boarding School, has provided access to education for high-achieving students from underprivileged families in Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands. The boarding programme has graduated 886 alumni and currently supports 107 active students studying at SMAN 1 Pemali.
MIND ID and PT Timah have also collaborated with Ruangguru through the MINDucation tutoring programme. This collaboration aims to enhance students’ competitiveness, preparing them to continue their education at higher education institutions or enter the professional workforce. Andara Vista, a student at Pemali Boarding School, admitted that she previously viewed higher education as unattainable due to her family’s financial limitations. However, MINDucation has given her the confidence to pursue further education and achieve her dreams.
The programme not only eases the financial burden on parents but also acts as a catalyst for social inclusion and economic independence for communities around mining operational areas. In synergy with the Education Office, MIND ID supports Indonesia’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target of completing 12 years of compulsory education. The provision of boarding facilities and continuous mentoring is considered effective in strengthening opportunities for students from remote areas to break the chain of poverty and contribute to their region’s development. During the programme, 72 students in grades 11 and 12 received additional learning support to prepare for state university entrance, resulting in 27 students, or 75 percent, successfully gaining admission to state universities. Strengthening educational access and improving learning quality are part of the MIND ID Group’s long-term commitment to supporting Indonesia’s human resource development.
