MIND ID Educates 100 Islamic Boarding School Students on Mining Industry

BUMN Holding Industri Pertambangan Indonesia MIND ID has provided mining industry education to 100 primary-level students from Pondok Pesantren Darul Kirom through the Junior Miners Fun Fest (JMFF) 2026 in Jakarta. MIND ID President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin stated that the activity is part of efforts to broaden access to education about the strategic industrial sector while preparing human resources capable of contributing to Indonesia’s future economic development. “Introducing the industry from an early age is expected to broaden the younger generation’s insight into the mining sector’s role in supporting national economic growth, industrial downstreaming, and the creation of added value for Indonesia,” Maroef said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. During the activity, the students participated in various interactive educational exhibits illustrating the mining operations within the MIND ID Group’s working areas, from North Sumatra to Central Papua. Participants were also introduced to mineral resource management processes, the use of technology in the mining sector, and the various professions required in the national strategic industry. In addition to the educational activities, the students also received educational assistance handed over by Maroef as part of the company’s commitment to supporting equitable access to quality education for the younger generation. The assistance comprised 100 school supply packages, including bags, pencil cases, notebooks, storybooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, sharpeners, tumblers, crayons, and drawing books. The Chairman of the Darul Kirom Islamic Boarding School Foundation, KH Ahmad Kamaludin, said the students gained hands-on learning experience about the mining industry outside the classroom. “The children were very enthusiastic and gained new experiences. They were able to see things directly that they had previously only learned about in class. This was a memorable experience for them,” he said. He appreciated the company’s support for education and expressed hope that the collaboration would continue. The company stated that the JMFF 2026 event is part of its commitment to providing innovative learning experiences for the younger generation. This effort is also described as the company’s contribution to strengthening the quality of human resources as a foundation for sustainable national economic growth towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
