MIND ID Educates 100 Islamic Boarding School Students on Mining Industry
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian mining industry holding company, MIND ID, provided mining industry education to 100 primary school students from Pondok Pesantren Darul Kirom through the Junior Miners Fun Fest (JMFF) 2026 activity in Jakarta.
MIND ID President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin stated that the activity is part of an effort to expand access to education regarding strategic industrial sectors, while simultaneously preparing human resources capable of contributing to Indonesia’s future economic development.
“Introducing the industry from an early age is expected to broaden the horizons of the younger generation regarding the role of the mining sector in supporting national economic growth, industrial downstreaming, and the creation of added value for Indonesia,” Maroef said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
During the event, the students participated in various interactive educational attractions that illustrated the mining operational processes within the MIND ID Group’s working areas, ranging from North Sumatra to Central Papua.
Participants were also introduced to the processes of mineral resource management, the use of technology in the mining sector, and the various professions required within the national strategic industry.
In addition to participating in the educational activities, the students also received educational assistance handed over by Maroef as part of the company’s commitment to supporting equitable access to quality education for the younger generation.
The assistance consisted of 100 school supply packages, including bags, pencil cases, notebooks, storybooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, sharpeners, tumblers, crayons, and drawing books.
The Chairman of the Darul Kirom Islamic Boarding School Foundation, KH Ahmad Kamaludin, said that the students gained direct learning experiences regarding the mining industry outside the classroom.
“The children were very enthusiastic and gained new experiences. They could see firsthand things they previously only knew from classroom learning. This has become a memorable experience for them,” said Ahmad.
He expressed appreciation for the company’s support for the students’ education and hoped that this cooperation would continue.
The company stated that the organisation of JMFF 2026 is part of its commitment to providing innovative learning experiences for the younger generation.
This effort is also described as the company’s contribution to strengthening the quality of human resources as the foundation for sustainable national economic growth towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
