MIND ID Distributes 5,322 Scholarships Throughout 2025 to Build a Golden Generation
The MIND ID Group disbursed 5,322 scholarships throughout 2025 as part of its commitment to building Indonesia’s golden generation through social investment in education. The programme was carried out together with all MIND ID Group members across the company’s operational areas.
Beyond scholarships, the MIND ID Group also provided learning support for 13,388 students, training for 408 teachers, vocational and skills training for 1,944 people, and improvements to 389 educational facilities and infrastructure. All of these programmes form part of the company’s strategy to build outstanding human resources ready to support Indonesia’s future development.
One flagship initiative is MINDucation: Empowering Coastal Students. The programme, a collaboration between MIND ID and PT Timah, aims to widen access to education for students in coastal and remote island areas.
Since 2000, PT Timah, through the Pemali Boarding School, has provided educational access for high-achieving students from lower-income families in Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands. To date, the boarding programme has produced 886 alumni and currently mentors 107 active students studying at SMAN 1 Pemali.
MIND ID and PT Timah have also partnered with Ruangguru through the MINDucation tutoring programme to boost students’ competitiveness so they are better prepared to continue to higher education or enter the professional workforce.
Andara Vista, a student at Pemali Boarding School, said the programme changed her view of higher education, which previously felt out of reach due to her family’s economic circumstances.
“I now receive additional learning support through MINDucation and live in a boarding environment that really supports my growth. The burden on my parents has become much lighter, and I feel far more confident in pursuing my ambitions,” said Andara, quoted on Thursday (9 July 2026).
The programme not only helps ease parents’ burden in meeting their children’s educational needs, but also acts as a catalyst for social inclusion and economic independence for communities living near mining operational areas.
Through synergy with local education offices, MIND ID is supporting Indonesia’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets, particularly the completion of twelve years of compulsory education. Support in the form of boarding facilities and sustained mentoring is seen as increasing the chances for students from remote areas to break the cycle of poverty and contribute to their home regions’ development.
During the MINDucation programme, 72 students in grades XI and XII received additional learning support to prepare for entry to state universities (PTN). Of that number, 27 students, or around 75 per cent, successfully gained admission to state universities.
Strengthening educational access and improving learning quality form part of the MIND ID Group’s long-term commitment to supporting the development of Indonesian human resources. Through broader learning opportunities, the company hopes to nurture a generation that is outstanding, competitive, and able to drive the nation’s progress.
