MIND ID Distributes 5,322 Scholarships Throughout 2025 to Build a Golden Generation

The MIND ID Group has distributed 5,322 scholarships throughout 2025 as part of its commitment to building Indonesia’s golden generation through social investment in education. The programme is run jointly with all members of the MIND ID Group across the company’s operational areas. In addition to scholarships, the group also provided learning assistance for 13,388 students, training for 408 teachers, vocational and skills training for 1,944 people, and the improvement of 389 educational facilities and infrastructure units. All these programmes form part of the company’s strategy to develop superior human resources ready to support Indonesia’s future development. One of the flagship programmes is MINDucation: Empowering Coastal Students. This collaboration between MIND ID and PT Timah aims to expand educational access for students in coastal areas and remote islands. Since 2000, PT Timah, through the Pemali Boarding School, has provided educational access for high-achieving students from underprivileged families in Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands. To date, the boarding programme has graduated 886 alumni and is nurturing 107 active students studying at SMAN 1 Pemali. MIND ID and PT Timah also partnered with Ruangguru through the MINDucation tutoring programme to enhance students’ competitiveness, preparing them for higher education or entry into the professional workforce. One Pemali Boarding School student, Andara Vista, said the programme changed her view of higher education, which previously seemed out of reach due to her family’s economic limitations. ‘Now I receive additional tutoring through MINDucation and live in a dormitory environment that greatly supports my growth. My parents’ burden has become much lighter, and I feel far more confident in pursuing my dreams,’ Andara said. The programme not only helps ease parents’ burden in meeting their children’s educational needs but also acts as a catalyst for social inclusion and community economic independence around mining operational areas. Through synergy with the Education Office, MIND ID supports Indonesia’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets, particularly the completion of the 12-year compulsory education programme. Support in the form of dormitory facilities and continuous mentoring is considered capable of increasing the chances for students from remote areas to break the poverty chain and contribute to their home region’s development. During the MINDucation programme, 72 Year XI and XII students received additional learning assistance to prepare for state university entrance. Of that number, 27 students, or about 75 per cent, successfully gained admission to state universities. Strengthening educational access and improving learning quality are part of the MIND ID Group’s long-term commitment to supporting Indonesia’s human resource development. Through broader learning opportunities, the company hopes to produce a generation that is excellent, competitive, and capable of driving the nation’s progress.
