Minardi seeks tie up with Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR (AP): Italian racecar maker Minardi and Malaysian
car maker Proton are seeking a tie up to develop a Formula One
racing engine, Minardi's chief Paul Stoddard was reported as
saying Saturday.
"I am looking at the possibility of working together with a
Malaysian company to develop an engine for Formula One, or more,
specifically, for Minardi," the Malay Mail quoted Stoddard as
saying.
Stoddard made the comment while visiting the Proton factory
near Kuala Lumpur earlier this week.
Minardi has signed up Malaysia's Alex Yoong as its lead
driver, replacing Tarso Marques of Brazil.
