Minangkabau Timur Road Towards Manggarai Closed Ahead of LRT Inauguration
Roads surrounding the Manggarai LRT Station in South Jakarta were closed this afternoon. The closure is being carried out ahead of the inauguration of the Jakarta Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT line.
Observations at Manggarai LRT Station on Wednesday (16/09/202le), around 11:30 WIB, showed that Minangkabau Timur Road towards Manggarai had already been closed. Meanwhile, Minangkabau Barat Road towards Jalan Sultan Agung remains accessible to vehicles.
The Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route is reported to be inaugurated personally by President Prabowo Subianto. Several members of the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) were seen on guard around the location.
Orange road barriers were visible, installed at the end of the road to halt vehicle flow. Traffic around the Manggarai area was observed to be flowing smoothly, with no congestion reported.
Additionally, several officials have already arrived, including the Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD Suhud Alynudin, the Vice Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD Ima Mahdiah, and other members of the Jakarta Provincial Government.
For reference, the Jakarta Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT spans 12.2 kilometres with 11 stations, namely Kelapa Gading, Boulevard Utara, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, Velodrome, Rawamangun, Pramuka, Matraman, Proklamasi, and Manggarai. Currently, the Jakarta LRT serves the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai route with a flat fare of Rp 5,000 per single trip.
