PADANG, West Sumatra: People from Medan, North Sumatra living
in the West Sumatra capital of Padang have found that Minangkabau
(West Sumatra) culture is very interesting.

Mohamad Daud, chairman of Medan Community Association, said in
Padang on Sunday that Minang culture embraced brotherhood and
solidarity.

"We are interested not only in learning about it, but also in
implementing it within our daily lives," Daud said, citing the
strong solidarity demonstrated by West Sumatrans living in almost
every part of the country.
