The long-running conflict between former ADOR CEO, Min Hee-jin, and entertainment giant HYBE has entered a new and surprising chapter. In an emergency press conference held in Seoul on Tuesday (February 25th), Min Hee-jin publicly offered a settlement of ₩25.6 billion, equivalent to Rp300 billion.

This move is intended by Min Hee-jin to halt the protracted legal battle that has captured global public attention and placed significant pressure on the K-pop industry.

The substantial sum of Rp300 billion actually comes from the put option on shares that Min Hee-jin previously won in a first-instance court ruling.

However, Min stated that she is willing to relinquish this financial value with one major condition: HYBE must cease all ongoing legal proceedings, both civil and criminal, related to her and other parties affected by the conflict.

“I want to end all of these legal conflicts. I am willing to give up the ₩25.6 billion if all lawsuits are dropped,” Min Hee-jin stated firmly during her press conference.

Min emphasized that this bold decision was made to end the psychological pressure experienced by many parties, especially the artists under her management.

She alluded to the impact of the dispute on the professional activities of NewJeans, which has been caught in the crossfire between her and HYBE’s central management.

According to her, a comprehensive resolution and peace are far more important than simply winning a financial victory in court.

In response to the publicly announced peace offering, HYBE issued a cautious reaction.

Citing reports from various international sources, the company that manages BTS stated that it currently “has no specific position” on the matter.

This brief statement is the only official response from HYBE, suggesting that legal proceedings are likely to continue unless a formal agreement is reached behind the scenes.

The dispute began in 2024, triggered by allegations related to management and ownership structure in the subsidiary label, ADOR. The conflict escalated into a series of layered lawsuits involving allegations of breach of trust and defamation.

Although Min Hee-jin won the lawsuit regarding the put option on shares in the first instance, HYBE has appealed.

Currently, the court has suspended the execution of the payment until the legal process at a higher level reaches a final decision.

With no concrete agreement yet, the future relationship between the talented creator and the K-pop giant will still be determined by the next legal steps in the coming months.
