Mimika Regency deploys integrated team to landslide site in Tembagapura
Timika (ANTARA) - The Mimika Regency Government in Central Papua has deployed an integrated team to inspect the landslide site that has cut off road access in Tembagapura District.
Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob in Timika on Wednesday stated that the team has already gone to the incident location to assess the conditions resulting from the landslide on the road section in the area.
He emphasised that the Mimika Regency Government is also promptly distributing food supplies to assist residents affected by the landslide in Tembagapura District.
Tembagapura District Head Dev Richard Tatiratu said that road access repairs are currently being carried out by PT Freeport Indonesia in collaboration with the Mimika Regency Government, supported by the Tembagapura Sector Police and Brimob personnel from Battalion B Pelopor Satbrimob of the Central Papua Provincial Police.
“Up to yesterday afternoon, pedestrian access has already been passable for the public. This morning, follow-up work has begun,” Dev said when contacted from Timika.
He estimated that repairs to the road access for four-wheeled vehicles would be completed in the next three to four days.
The Mimika Regency’s Integrated Team, he said, has also visited the landslide site to directly observe the conditions of the affected community and has reported to the Mimika Regent.
“The Mimika Regency Government is also sending food aid to help residents impacted by the landslide. If there are no technical obstacles, the food aid will arrive in Tembagapura this afternoon,” he added.
The Tembagapura District Government expressed appreciation to all parties for the strong collaboration and synergy, ensuring that the entire process of repairing the damaged road access proceeds safely and smoothly.
“The collaboration is running very optimally; the entire repair process for road access and security in this area remains maintained, safe, and conducive,” he stated.
