Military students graduate

JAKARTA (JP): Chief of Staff of the Jakarta Military Command
Brig. Gen. Sutiyoso presided over the graduation of 70 students
from the second stage of their military education yesterday.

Sutiyoso said at the graduation ceremony that infantry
privates were required to be skillful in more than one field.

"A private should be capable of anticipating any possible
changes in the heart of the community," he said.

Sutiyoso said that, in order to carry out their duties, all
privates were expected to have a broad knowledge.

The 70 new graduates will undergo further, more advanced
military training before being officially registered as mature
private soldiers. (hhr)
