Military Prosecutor Demands 2.5-Year Prison Sentence for Four TNI Intelligence Personnel
The Military Prosecutor has demanded a prison sentence of 2.5 years for each of the four TNI defendants involved in the alleged assault of Kontras Vice Coordinator Andrie Yunus. The defendants have been identified as Serda Edi Sudarko, Lettu Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Kapten Nandala Dwi Prasetya, and Lettu Sami Lakka.
“We request that the Jakarta Military Court II-08 declare the defendants guilty of committing a criminal offence, specifically participating in premeditated assault resulting in serious injury,” stated Military Prosecutor Lt Col Chk Muhammad Iswadi during the sentencing hearing at the Jakarta Military Court II-08 on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
The prosecution contends that the four defendants violated Article 467, paragraph (1) in conjunction with paragraph (2) and Article 20, letter C of the National Criminal Code (KUHP). The Military Prosecutor noted that the actions were classified as a premeditated offence, which increases the severity of the sentencing.
The prosecution alleges that the defendants acted out of resentment, anger, or negative sentiment towards Andrie, following his actions which were perceived as insulting the dignity of the TNI. These actions included interrupting a meeting regarding the revision of the TNI Law on 16 March 2025 and promoting various anti-militarist narratives. Consequently, the prosecutor believes the actions of the four TNI personnel constitute extra-legal revenge, causing physical suffering to the victim and significant reputational damage to the TNI both nationally and internationally.
