Military Police hunt one of their own

MANADO, North Sulawesi: Local Military Police are hunting one
of their members accused of killing a civilian from Amurang,
South Minahasa regency.

Manado Military Police chief Lt. Col. Waluyo said Saturday
that the suspect, identified only by his rank and initials as
Chief Sgt. VS, alias Veto, 33, had been placed on a wanted list.

He is accused of causing the death of Franky Muing, 42. Waluyo
could not say what motivated the killing but did say Veto was
drunk when he allegedly shot Franky.

Wirabuana military chief Maj. Gen. Suprapto promised to
dishonorably discharge Veto from the force.

"But the suspect has to face the legal process first before
being fired," he added.

Suprapto told Veto to surrender, otherwise he could face a
heavier sentence. --Antara
