Military police get new chief
JAKARTA (JP): City Military Chief Maj.Gen. Wiranto installed Col. Djasri Marin yesterday as the new chief of the City Military Police replacing Col. Imamul Achyar.
Djasri, a 1973 graduate of the Military Academy, is former chief of the Armed Forces Strategic Command of the Military Police.
Imamul, a 1964 graduate from the same academy, will serve as an officer at the Armed Forces headquarters.
Wiranto told Military Police officers that the City Military Command should not hesitate to take action against unruly officers. "We will fire those reckless officers if they are found guilty of breaking the law," he insisted.
He asked the new chief of the Military Police to enforce discipline among officials. "It is the Military Police's responsibility to supervise the discipline of the military officers." (29)
