Military office gutted by fire
PONTIANAK, West Kalimantan: A fire gutted an office at the
West Pontianak district military headquarters on Monday morning
amid normal exercises and other activities being held by troops
there.
However, local military personnel managed to remove ammunition
before the fire spread to other buildings.
The incident surprised local residents because it happened at
around 10 a.m. while troops were conducting regular activities at
the headquarters, according to witness Suyatno.
A fire-fighting team, assisted by military personnel, managed
to extinguish the blaze after 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire remains unclear. --Antara
