Military launches discipline campaign
JAKARTA (JP): Since President Soeharto launched National Discipline Movement campaign on May 22, the City Military District Command and other related agencies have deployed 2,000 personnel to seven areas in Greater Jakarta.
The personnel have been instructed to take action against anyone violating the city's ruling on sanitation and order. At the same time they are also assigned to instill a high sense of discipline among the public, City Military spokesman Lt. Col. Didi Supandi said.
Didi said the discipline campaign could begin with everyone daily using the Indonesian language correctly, observing traffic signs, queuing, obeying work hours and properly disposing of litter. (bas)
