Military hunts terror callers

AMBON, Maluku (JP): Maluku Military are hunting anonymous telephone callers who have spread terror among residents in the last two weeks.

Chief of the Pattimura Military Command Brig. Gen. Max Tamaela told reporters here on Monday that military intelligence had identified people who had spread terror among the people of Ambon.

He said Muslim families were being threatened via telephone that Christians would attack them in the near future, and vice versa.

"There are people who don't want peace in Ambon," Tamaela said.(49/sur)
