Military Court Establishes Panel of Judges for KontraS Activist Case

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Military Court II-08 Jakarta has established the panel of judges that will lead the trial proceedings in the case of alleged assault against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus from the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence (KontraS). “It has been done; there is an appointment of the panel of judges for the upcoming trial,” said Spokesperson for the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Endah Wulandari, when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday. Endah assured that the legal process for the case involving Andrie Yunus will continue. The case file, previously handed over by the Military Prosecutor’s Office to the Jakarta Military Court, has now been declared ready for trial. In addition, the administrative stages of the case have been completed. The appointment of the panel of judges was also carried out based on the decree of the Head of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta using the Smart Majelis application system. The composition of the panel of judges that will try the case consists of three legal officers, namely Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto as the chief judge, and Irwan Tasri and M. Zainal Abidin as member judges. This process is an important step in law enforcement and efforts to provide legal certainty for the parties involved. Previously, the Military Court II-08 Jakarta scheduled the first hearing of the alleged assault case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus for Wednesday (29/4). The first hearing will agenda the reading of the indictment against the defendants, who are active military members. In this case, there are four military members who have been designated as defendants. They consist of three officers and one non-commissioned officer, namely Captain NDP, First Lieutenant BHW, First Lieutenant SL, and Second Sergeant ES. All four were previously suspects and are now officially defendants after the case file was handed over to the court. The case is registered under number 55/K/207/AL-AU/IV/2026 dated 13 April 2026. The file includes evidence items, four defendants, and eight witnesses who will be presented at the trial. Of the eight witnesses, five are military members, while the other three are civilians.
