Military continue chase of rebels

JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: A number of teams from the Armed Forces are continuing their pursuit of the Free Papua Organization rebels who reportedly abducted two students.

Antara reported on Thursday that the students, identified as Bsy and Min, residents of the Arso Kota subdistrict, were riding to school on a motorcycle on Wednesday.

They were reportedly ambushed by armed rebels of the separatist movement and taken into the forest. The rebels also shot at a passing truck.

Mrs. Majo and Wawan, two of the truck's passengers, were badly injured and had to be hospitalized. (swe)
