Military Auditor Visits RSCM but Cancels Meeting with Andrie Yunus Who is Still Recovering
Military auditors visited Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Central Jakarta to check on the condition of Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS and victim of an acid attack. However, the auditors could not meet Andrie as he is still recovering after surgery.
“We, from a humanitarian perspective, wanted to visit or call on Brother Andrie Yunus today in the afternoon, who became the victim of the Defendants—fellow media colleagues know that the case is already underway,” said military auditor Lieutenant Colonel Chk Muhammad Iswandi at RSCM, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Iswandi said he came to express empathy. However, he stated that Andrie could not yet be met because he is still undergoing intensive recovery.
“But fellow media colleagues know that Brother Andrie Yunus has just finished undergoing surgery, and today, post-surgery, he is still in the healing process. So indeed, he cannot be visited because it would be very dangerous if Brother Andrie Yunus received visitors,” he said.
He explained that Andrie must not move during his post-surgery recovery period. He said that body movements could cause the recovery to fail.
“And on the right shoulder, the right side, it must not move; earlier information from the hospital management said it must be in a static position. If it moves even a little, the surgery will fail. So we understand Brother Andrie Yunus’s situation,” he clarified.
For information, the Andrie Yunus case began to be tried in military court on Wednesday (29/4). In this case, there are four suspects who are TNI members.
The military auditor has charged the four TNI soldiers with carrying out the acid attack on Andrie Yunus. The military auditor said the defendants carried out the action because they were annoyed with Andrie.
The auditor said the defendants learned of Andrie on 16 March 2025 when Andrie entered and interrupted a meeting discussing the revision of the TNI Law held by the DPR at the Fairmont Hotel in South Jakarta. The defendants considered Andrie’s actions to have insulted the TNI institution.
“With that incident, the defendants considered Brother Andrie Yunus to have insulted the TNI institution, even trampling on the TNI institution,” said the auditor when reading the indictment.
The auditor charged the four soldiers with violating Article 469 paragraph 1 subsidiary Article 468 paragraph 1 further subsidiary Article 467 paragraph 1 in conjunction with paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
