Midwives needed in Central Sulawesi
PALU: About 200 midwives are needed in remote villages in Central Sulawesi, Antara reported on Wednesday.
"We currently have 1,300 midwives, but we need 1,500," the head of the health agency here, Amin Nompo, said.
Graduates from midwifery schools would be assigned to fill in the gaps, he said.
He confirmed that many midwives had recently stopped working in the province, citing a need to be with ailing parents or a desire to be with their husbands among the more common reasons given.
