Midtrans Records 35% Increase in Transaction Volume During Ramadan

The surge was particularly evident in the e-commerce, supermarket, streaming services, and restaurant sectors, along with a significant increase in digital transactions, marked by a substantial gross transaction value (GTV), said Head of Midtrans Boan Sianipar in a statement received in Bandung, West Java, on Thursday.

Boan added that this achievement indicates consumers who are increasingly comfortable and confident in conducting digital transactions.

According to the company, the increase in transaction volume also signifies Midtrans as a provider of a smooth and secure digital payment system in accommodating the high level of public economic activity while supporting merchants in carrying out transactions without obstacles during transaction surges.

The company stated that readiness of infrastructure and technology is a key factor in maintaining service performance.

Therefore, system stability and security are continuously maintained so that merchants can still provide the best experience to customers.

“We are always pleased to see the growth of merchants during the month of Ramadan. Our focus during Ramadan and Eid is to ensure system security and stability to handle transaction surges without hindrance, so that the consumer transaction experience is not disrupted and our merchants’ operations can continue smoothly,” Boan explained.
