MidPlaza Superblock, the broadband-ready building
MidPlaza Superblock, the broadband-ready building
If you are considering setting up an office, you might want to
look for an office space that is equipped to cater to all your
needs in this era of information.
Amid the forests of high-rises in Jakarta, there is MidPlaza,
an office building located on Jl. Sudirman, the business district
of Jakarta.
MidPlaza is unlike other high-rise office buildings in the
capital as it has fiber optic cable network provided by two major
telecommunications operators, namely, PT Indosat and PT Telkom.
Therefore, tenants at MidPlaza can use the services offered by
the two operators. The services include videoconferencing, ATM
(Asynchronous Transfer Mode), frame relay, integrated system
digital network (ISDN), leased lines and high speed Internet.
MidPlaza complex is owned by PT MidPlaza Prima. The complex
has been fitted with a Fiber Optic Communications System that
allows Internet access at a much higher speed than via the
traditional modem. Tenants can share the use of this system and
other local network-based resources by connecting their computers
to the network via wall jacks.
The Fiber Optic Communications System can also handle far more
data and can be easily upgraded. The current access speed is 155
Mbps, but it can be upgraded to 2.5G or more. This network
provides transmission from 64 kbps to 155 Mbps, just what people
are looking for in this information era -- infrastructure to
access the Internet as quickly as possible.
MidPlaza, in collaboration with BIZNET, also offers MINI
(MidPlaza Information Network Interchange), a state-of-the-art
technology which gives tenants high-speed broadband, low cost
access to the Internet. BIZNET is an Internet Service Provider
which provides Internet connections and business web solutions to
tenants.
In addition to the high-speed Internet access, BIZNET has also
set up an international standard data center, for servers on the
fifth floor of the MidPlaza 1 building. The data center offers a
cost-effective and secure way of housing servers in BIZNET's
Network Operation Center, which is directly connected to the
information superhighway.
Director of MidPlaza Prima Hendarto Rahardjo, said BIZNET
currently had a 700-square-meter space to accommodate servers at
the data center.
"By having the server at the data center, tenants can save
cost. Access will be faster as the server will not have to use an
overseas route," he said.
He said MidPlaza was also cooperating with cellular operators
Satelindo, Telkomsel and Exelcomindo to set up a base transceiver
station in the complex to enhance mobile phone signals on all
floors, including the basement and elevators.
Because of the superior information technology facilities,
tenants in MidPlaza will be able to remain in instant contact.
"Any company will sooner or later need this IT infrastructure
in anticipation of the coming economic era. MidPlaza is ready
with such infrastructure," said Hendarto.
He said guests at Kempinski Hotel & Apartments could also opt
to stay in an I-Room which offers 100 Mbps Ethernet connection
with special in-room cabling. Guests will only need to plug in to
link to the Internet.
MidPlaza complex comprises MidPlaza 1 and 2 office buildings,
and the Kempinski Hotel & Apartments. There is also an arcade in
this integrated superblock. It is the only integrated and
interconnected complex in the capital.
Other facilities in the complex include 11 restaurants,
serving Japanese, Chinese, European and Indonesian cuisines; a
supermarket and mini market; a wine bar and cellar; a beauty
salon; a dental clinic; a post office; photo laboratory;
photocopying and printing services; a stationary shop; a
delicatessen; and hotdog stall.
There are also meeting rooms and a business center equipped
for videoconferencing in the hotel, as well as international and
local banks, and travel agencies.
Besides its prime location, it has a round-the-clock security
system and a spacious parking lot.
With such superior facilities and sophisticated
infrastructure, MidPlaza becomes the first choice for a reliable
office complex in the capital.
