Middle East Crisis, Prabowo: Indonesia's Situation Far Better Than Other Nations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto assesses that Indonesia is in a better situation compared to other nations amid the crisis in the Middle East region, which has led to a surge in global energy prices.
“What we are experiencing now, the crisis occurring in the Middle East that is causing energy prices to soar, we must be convinced and grateful that our nation’s condition is far better than that of other nations,” the President said during a briefing at the government working meeting of Cabinet Merah Putih members at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Prabowo conveyed that based on data and reports received from his ministers, the domestic situation is deemed quite safe, although there are still challenges and difficulties that must be faced.
“After studying the figures and receiving reports from my ministers, our condition is quite safe. There are challenges, there are difficulties, but we are capable of facing and overcoming them,” said Prabowo.
In his briefing, Prabowo also touched on the importance of managing natural resources, which he sees as a fundamental factor in a nation’s life.
According to him, this has been affirmed by the nation’s founders through the 1945 Constitution, which mandates that the earth, water, and natural wealth must be controlled by the state for the greatest prosperity of the people.
“There are countries rich in oil and gas but without water. What I want to convey to you all? These things are so important, so fundamental, and this has been underlined by our nation’s founders,” said the President.
Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo stated that the President wants to directly convey directives to all ranks of officials to ensure a common understanding in implementing government policies.
“The President feels it is important to convey this directly to all echelon I officials, because we are all a unity. In a ministry, there is a minister supported by echelon I and their subordinates,” he said.
He added that the President is likely conveying strategic matters related to government policies and state administration, including recent developments.
