Security measures at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali have been intensified following the cancellation of five flights to various countries in the Middle East due to escalation of conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Several hotels have been prepared to accommodate passengers affected by flight cancellations.

The press officer of Polres Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Ipda I Gede Suka Artana, explained that police personnel are carrying out security, patrols, and providing public order and security warnings to passengers, predominantly foreign nationals, at the International Departure Terminal.

“Personnel from Polres Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai are working in synergy with relevant stakeholders to conduct security and monitoring at the International Terminal and to provide public order and security warnings to passengers. The situation remains safe and conducive at this time,” he stated.

The Middle East conflict has resulted in several international flights from Ngurah Rai Airport being cancelled. Police personnel from Polres Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai, working alongside relevant stakeholders, have strengthened security and monitoring at the International Terminal to ensure the situation remains safe and orderly.

Security and monitoring activities were carried out by Polres Bandara Ngurah Rai personnel from Saturday evening (28/2/2026) onwards, with focus on passenger services and security for those affected by flight cancellations.

Regarding Emirates flight EK399 and Qatar flight QR961, cancellations had been communicated to passengers in advance through email notifications from the airlines.

Passengers affected by cancellations of Etihad flight EY-477, Qatar flight QR-963, and Emirates flight EK369 have been directed according to each airline’s policy. Emirates passengers have been directed to the Golden Tulip Hotel, Pullman Hotel, Ibis Kuta Hotel, and Ibis Denpasar Hotel. Etihad passengers have been directed to Harris Sunset Road Hotel and Platinum Hotel. Qatar Airways passengers are partially waiting at the airport and partially arranging accommodation independently, with the airline providing compensation in the form of ticket replacements.

“All passengers experiencing flight cancellations are offered the option of refunds or rebooking on the next available flight,” he said.

The security situation has remained orderly. Security and public order conditions in the Ngurah Rai International Airport area have been reported as safe and conducive.

“Polres Bandara I Gusti Ngurah Rai reaffirms that it will continue to conduct security and monitoring to anticipate potential public order disturbances and ensure optimal public service,” he concluded.
