Mid-Ramadan Arrives: Check South Jakarta Imsakiyah Schedule on Thursday 5 March

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – As the middle of Ramadan 1447 AH arrives, Muslims in South Jakarta observe the 15th day of fasting on Thursday 5 March 2026. Imsakiyah schedules and prayer times serve as a reference to ensure spiritual activities remain timely throughout the day. Each area, including Bekasi Regency, has its own imsakiyah and prayer times to guide fasting throughout the day. Here are the imsakiyah and prayer times for South Jakarta on the 15th Ramadan 1447 AH, i.e., Thursday 5 March 2026. The government, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, set the start of fasting for 1 Ramadan 1447 AH as Thursday, 19 February 2026. The decision was made after an Isbat meeting held at the Kemenag office in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon, 17 February 2026, chaired by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar. The determination was made because the hilal could not be sighted on Tuesday, in line with the forecast of the Kemenag’s Hisab Rukyat Team, which indicated that the position of the hilal did not meet the visibility criteria of MABIMS. The difference does not affect the validity of the worship, and all Muslims are urged to show mutual respect. The Isbat session involved various Islamic organisations, falak experts, and astronomical institutions, and was conducted using a method that combines hisab calculations with rukyatul hilal sky sightings to maintain uniformity while respecting the diversity of methods developed within the community.
