Micro-Enterprises Affected by Sumatra Disasters to Receive IDR 3 Million Presidential Aid
The Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Maman Abdurrahman, stated that Presidential Aid (Banpres) of IDR 3 million per micro-entrepreneur affected by disasters in Sumatra will be disbursed in the near future. He explained that this assistance is exclusively intended for micro-entrepreneurs who have not yet accessed financing from the banking sector.
A total budget of IDR 600 billion has been prepared for this aid for 2026. According to Maman, this step is being taken to respond to the aspirations of small business owners in three disaster-affected regions: Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Maman clarified that the IDR 3 million capital assistance is only provided to those impacted by the Sumatra disasters who lack access to bank loans. “For those who have already accessed banking finance, they are being handled through banking mechanisms. For those without access, this will be provided through business assistance of IDR 3 million per micro-enterprise via Banpres,” Maman said at the Ministry of MSMEs office in Jakarta on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
In addition to this requirement, he stated that the amount of aid will not be identical across the three regions. The value will be calculated proportionally, adjusting to the number of affected small entrepreneurs in each area. “One of the requirements is a proposal from the respective regional heads,” he added.
In the near future, the central government will hold coordination meetings with the regional governments of the three provinces to prepare data collection and identify eligible recipients. The funding is sourced from the budget allocated for the Master Plan for Economic Rehabilitation and Disaster Recovery for Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, which has been set at IDR 100.166 trillion.
Data regarding entrepreneurs eligible for capital assistance will be sourced from MSME clinics in each region. The government plans that after the initial IDR 600 billion is distributed, it will add another IDR 600 billion to the micro-enterprise Banpres budget next year, bringing the total assistance amount to IDR 1.2 trillion.
