Micro Electric SUV Comparison: Solarky Sun V vs VinFast VF 3
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The micro electric vehicle segment is gaining traction in Indonesia. Two models capturing attention are the MAB Solarky Sun V and VinFast VF 3.
Both feature compact dimensions and mini-SUV styling, but offer different approaches.
In terms of design, both adopt the boxy, angular styling popular in the electric city car segment. This look conveys ruggedness despite their small size.
The Solarky Sun V features a more futuristic design thanks to its solar panels on the roof, which can be electrically opened to assist battery charging.
The VinFast VF 3, meanwhile, presents a more traditional mini-SUV aesthetic with a wider body and larger wheel proportions, giving it a sturdier appearance.
The Solarky Sun V measures 3,150mm in length, 1,491mm in width, and 1,590mm in height without the solar panels, rising to 1,700mm when open. Its wheelbase is 2,070mm.
For urban use, their compact dimensions are a key advantage, allowing easier maneuvering in narrow streets and limited parking spaces.
Inside, both feature modern minimalist interiors typical of electric vehicles.
The Solarky Sun V is well-equipped for its segment, featuring a 10.3-inch touchscreen head unit, keyless start, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, regenerative braking system, and SuperEco and Normal driving modes.
The VF 3, meanwhile, emphasises driving character with 16-inch wheels and a 175mm ground clearance, making it better prepared for varied road conditions.
Performance
The VinFast VF 3 delivers higher power output. Its electric motor produces up to 40 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque.
