MGPA Intensifies Coordination for 2026 MotoGP Preparations at Mandalika Circuit

The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) has held coordination meetings with the Central Lombok Regency Government and the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government to mature preparations for the 2026 Indonesian MotoGP and the event calendar at the Mandalika International Circuit. “Strengthening coordination is the main key to making the packed international and national racing agenda at Indonesia’s pride circuit a success,” said MGPA President Director Ananda Mikola in Central Lombok on Wednesday. Whilst visiting the office of NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, Ananda outlined a number of strategic programmes being developed. One of the main focuses discussed was the technical readiness of the circuit ahead of the world’s most prestigious motorcycle race. “We are not only focusing on race day. A series of supporting programmes titled ‘Road to MotoGP’ is also being prepared. This pre-event programme is planned to present various interactive activities involving many parties,” he said. MGPA is also preparing several surprises to boost enthusiasm from global and domestic audiences. This series is expected to reinforce the Mandalika Circuit’s position as a leading sport tourism destination in the country, whilst expanding the promotional effect for NTB tourism. “We want to ensure all MotoGP preparations run well through close coordination with the NTB Provincial Government and the Central Lombok Regency Government,” he said. He emphasised that the success of this international event cannot depend on a single party, so support from all stakeholders is crucial so that this year’s MotoGP event can proceed successfully and provide maximum benefits for the community. After completing discussions in Mataram, Ananda paid a visit to Central Lombok Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri. In that meeting, both parties agreed that the economic turnover from every event in Mandalika must be felt directly and equitably by the local community. “Starting from the accommodation sector, transportation, to the MSME players around the circuit,” he said. He stated that a harmonious relationship and two-way communication between MGPA and the regional government are the main foundations for maintaining the circuit’s continued existence going forward. “We believe Mandalika’s success cannot be achieved alone. Strong synergy is needed between the area manager, the regional government, the community, and all stakeholders,” he said.
