MGPA enhances quality of MotoGP operations at Mandalika Circuit
The management of Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) attended the MotoGP event at Thailand’s Chang International Circuit as part of a strategic agenda to enhance the quality of MotoGP operations in Indonesia at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, scheduled for 9–11 October 2026.
“We attended not merely to watch the race, but to conduct operational and motorsport benchmarking as well as hold official meetings with the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), International Road-Racing Teams Association (IRTA), and MotoGP Sport and Entertainment Group,” stated Vice President of Motorsport MGPA Donny Mahardjono.
He explained that the MGPA team’s presence at the Buriram circuit was to coordinate with FIM on operational and motorsport matters, specifically with FIM’s Team Safety Officer, Mr Bartolome Alfonso, regarding the fulfilment of homologation requirements for MotoGP at Mandalika.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive of PT Mandalika Grand Prix Association Pribadi Satria noted that the MGPA team’s attendance at Buriram MotoGP, beyond technical preparations for the Mandalika event, also formed part of the organisation’s human resource talent development programme.
“I always encourage all MGPA employees, from Vice President level down to the most junior staff, to be confident in meeting with various parties, to learn to observe, listen whilst actively engaging in discussion and decision-making,” he stated.
He expressed confidence that all levels should undergo a learning process, and by encouraging staff to engage in such experiences, the learning curve would accelerate, enabling them to execute various tasks effectively and correctly at Mandalika Circuit.
“We have already sent numerous MGPA employees to conduct benchmarking and on-the-job training at various international events, enabling them to gain experience and accelerated learning,” he concluded.
