MG S5 EV unveiled with modern, clean and sporty design

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - MG Motor Indonesia has officially launched the MG S5 EV at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026. Its presence strengthens MG’s electric vehicle lineup in the country. Designed for the compact electric SUV segment, the S5 EV features MG’s latest design language, distinct from previous models in Indonesia. Unlike many Chinese rivals that tend to feature aggressive body lines and ornate details, this electric SUV takes a different approach. Upon first viewing, the impression is simple yet modern. The design is not overly busy but has enough detail to be appealing. In terms of dimensions, the S5 EV measures 4,545mm in length, 1,875mm in width, 1,620mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,705mm. These proportions give it a balanced compact SUV stance, with a spacious cabin thanks to the long wheelbase. At the front, the electric vehicle identity is immediately apparent. The grille area is closed off with a clean fascia design and minimal ornamentation. The main highlight is the slim, narrow headlights. Their shape gives a sharp character, while the lower positioning of the main lights creates a layered look common in modern electric vehicles. The front bumper is also designed with a strong presence, featuring large air intakes at the bottom.
