Mexico calls for world peace amid Middle East escalation

Mexico City (ANTARA) – The Mexican Government will consistently champion world peace, stated Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Sunday (1 March), referring to the latest military strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran.

“Mexico will always strive for world peace, which is greatly needed at this time,” Sheinbaum emphasised during an event in Baja California Sur state in western Mexico.

She highlighted that her country’s constitution establishes that Mexican foreign policy principles must be guided by national self-determination, non-intervention, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

The United States and Israel launched large-scale airstrikes against Iran on Saturday (28 February) morning, prompting Tehran to retaliate through multiple waves of missile and drone attacks against Israel and US military bases in the Gulf region.
