Seasonal traders served buyers of buffalo and beef meat during the traditional animal slaughter known as Meugang, welcoming the holy month of Ramadan at the Bina Usaha market area in Meulaboh, West Aceh, Aceh, on Tuesday (17/2/2026).

The Acehnese community celebrates the Meugang tradition with meat dishes as the main fare. The tradition is observed three times a year: ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, before Eid al-Fitr, and before Eid al-Adha.
