Metromini conductor killed over Rp 300

JAKARTA (JP): The conductor of a Metromini bus serving the Pasar Minggu - Manggarai route died in hospital on Wednesday after being stabbed by two unidentified teenagers at the Pancoran intersection traffic lights in South Jakarta.

Tebet police subprecinct chief of detective First. Insp Supangat said the victim, 25-year-old Ramdali, a resident of Lenteng Agung subdistrict in South Jakarta, gave Rp 300 to one of a group of teenagers who helped direct passengers to the bus.

The teenagers demanded more money, however, Ramdali refused to pay more as only two passengers boarded the bus at the intersection.

Supangat said two of the teenagers then became angry and repeatedly stabbed Ramdali in his stomach, fleeing after he collapsed.

The metromini driver, Sahrul, took Ramdali to the Budi Asih hospital where he died three hours after receiving medical assistance.

Ramdali's pregnant wife, Wiwid, 22, who later went to the morgue, said she felt queasy for most of Tuesday night until she was informed at 1 a.m. on Wednesday that her husband had been sent to the hospital.

"However, I could only see my husband's corpse," she said in tears. (01)
