Metrodata Successfully Holds Metrodata Solution Day 2026, Pushing AI to Become Measurable Business Value

PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (Metrodata) successfully held Metrodata Solution Day (MSD) 2026 with the theme “Winning with AI: Build, Run, and Scale for Measurable Impact” at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, on Thursday (20/8/2026).

Entering its 21st year, the theme underscores a shift in the company’s focus in utilising artificial intelligence (AI), from merely adopting technology to generating real and measurable business impact.

This message is becoming increasingly relevant amid rising AI investment in Indonesia. In the IDC Info Snapshot From AI Spending to AI Value Creation, 56.7 percent of organisations in Indonesia plan to increase their GenAI budgets by more than 50 percent, nearly double the Asia/Pacific average of 29.8 percent.

However, the scale of this investment has not been fully matched by implementation maturity. IDC notes that AI maturity among organisations in Indonesia has only reached 2.03 on a scale of 5, indicating a gap between investment enthusiasm and organisational readiness to optimise AI.

At MSD 2026, Metrodata also held a press conference attended by more than 40 media outlets. On this occasion, journalists gained perspectives from Metrodata and several global technology companies on the development of AI implementation in Indonesia.

President Director of PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk Susanto Djaja said organisations must now change how they measure AI success. “We have passed the phase where adoption was the measure of progress. Indonesia has proven that, as one of the markets with the highest AI adoption speed in the region. What matters now is the value generated, not how quickly the technology is adopted,” he asserted.

According to Susanto, organisations need discipline, governance, and accountability in every AI investment. Therefore, MSD 2026 invites companies to measure success not by adoption speed, but by the real impact created.

This idea is translated by Metrodata through three main stages: Build, Run, and Scale. Build focuses on data readiness, architecture, and selecting use cases that fit business needs. Run emphasises governance, security, operations, and measurement so that AI implementation runs consistently. Meanwhile, Scale is directed at expanding AI utilisation across various business functions to increase productivity and accelerate decision-making.

Vice President, Alliances & Channels, ASEAN at Salesforce Pravar Gautam also stressed that AI requires not only technological capability, but also organisational readiness and local capability to generate business value.

“Technology, especially AI, is not just about technology adoption. There is a functional side that is also important, such as change management, adoption, and skills development on the customer and partner side,” said Pravar.

This approach shows that the journey towards AI utilisation does not stop once the technology is in use. Companies need to ensure employees have the appropriate skills, partners have adequate implementation capability, and the organisation is ready to face changes in work processes.

With the sub-theme “Accelerating AI for Real Business and Operational Value”, MSD 2026 brought together business leaders, technology practitioners, and global technology partners. More than 30 technology partners participated through keynotes, executive discussions, and various sessions covering AI, cloud, cybersecurity, data analytics, modern infrastructure, and enterprise applications.

Several partners also emphasised the importance of transforming AI from experimentation into part of company operations.

Country General Manager Microsoft Indonesia Gunawan Susanto said the discussion about AI is no longer about access to technology, but how that technology can be applied. “Successful organisations are those that can integrate AI into daily work, manage it responsibly, and expand its application across the entire organisation,” he said.

Microsoft, together with Metrodata, is working to help companies bridge the gap between AI experimentation and measurable business value creation.

Google Cloud Indonesia also believes companies need to move beyond pilot projects. Country Director Google Cloud Indonesia Karim Siregar stressed the importance of integrating AI agents directly into daily operations so that companies can innovate and implement at a wider scale.

On the other hand, security and governance are important parts of this journey. Red Hat highlighted the need for an open, flexible, and secure hybrid cloud foundation. Meanwhile, Palo Alto Networks reminded that AI also accelerates cyber threats.

“AI accelerates cyber threats as fast as it transforms business. Securing AI is not about adding new tools, but about taking a unified platform approach to cybersecurity,” said Solutions Consulting Manager Palo Alto Networks Arthur Siahaan.

Country Manager Red Hat Indonesia Vony Tjiu also reiterated that to turn AI investment into real results, organisations need the ability to deploy and scale AI workloads seamlessly across various IT environments without dependence on a single vendor.
