Metro Police Urge Residents Not to Convoy During Takbiran Night
Metro Jaya Police are carrying out a series of security measures for Takbiran night activities today. Police are urging the public not to conduct convoys during the Takbiran night celebrations.
“On this occasion, we urge the people of the capital to, for the implementation of Takbiran night, not carry out convoys. They can enrich the mosques in the surrounding area, in their own neighbourhood,” said the Director of Traffic of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Komarudin, at the HI Roundabout, Jakarta, on Friday (20/3/2026).
Komarudin explained that in Jakarta, there will be a number of activities as part of the final day of the Ramadan month. Joint TNI-Polri personnel are on standby at locations expected to be visited by many residents.
“For the Sudirman-Thamrin road corridor itself, no fewer than 557 personnel will be deployed, because there are several road sections that we will later engineer, including anticipating if there is high enthusiasm from the public who will come to this place,” Komarudin clarified.
He stated that after the mudik flow period ends, the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate will focus on securing the return flow of mudik travellers to Jakarta. A number of traffic engineering policies have been prepared to disperse vehicle flows.
“And finally, we will again deploy maximum strength to welcome our brothers and sisters returning from mudik,” he added.
It is known that the government has officially announced that Eid al-Fitr, 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah or Lebaran 2026, falls on 21 March 2026. This was announced after the government held the Isbat session on Thursday (19/3).
