Metro Police to Soon Announce Case Status of Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa Regarding Jokowi's Report on Fake Diploma Allegations, P21?
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Metro Jaya Police have stated that they will soon announce developments in the handling of the case involving Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa related to the report by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), regarding allegations of a fake diploma. The police have assured that the status of the case will be communicated to the public in the near future, including the possibility that the case file has been declared complete or P21.
The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said that investigators are currently still carrying out administrative processes and coordination related to the handling of the case. “Regarding the case of Mr Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa, in the near future we will release information regarding the decision on whether the case is P21 or not,” said Budi on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
When asked if the announcement would be made this month, he assured that the case developments would be announced soon. “Yes, definitely, what date is it now. Definitely in the near future,” he said.
Previously, investigators from Metro Jaya Police concluded a case review regarding the report by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on allegations of a fake diploma. Through the case review, the investigators decided to name eight people as suspects in the case.
“Based on the results of the investigation, we have named eight people as suspects, which we have divided into two clusters,” said the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, during a press conference at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Semanggi, South Jakarta, on Friday (7/11/2025).
