Metro Police to Examine VinFast Representatives Tomorrow Regarding Bekasi Train Collision Case
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Metro Jaya Police have disclosed developments in the examination of several witnesses related to the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, on Monday (27/4/2026). The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, explained that witnesses from the Bekasi City Road Infrastructure Agency, Bekasi City Public Works Agency, Bekasi City Spatial Planning Agency, and the Directorate General of Land Transportation have attended and are undergoing examination at Metro Jaya Police headquarters.
“Meanwhile, the taxi driver and gate witnesses have attended and are undergoing examination at the Bekasi City Metro Police Resort,” he said.
Budi added that witnesses from the taxi company, VinFast, have been postponed until Tuesday (5/5/2026), while the southern supervisor and the Head of Signal Telecommunications and Electricity (Sintelis) have been postponed until Friday (8/5/2026). Previously, Metro Jaya Police re-examined several witnesses related to the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, on Monday (27/4/2026).
“Examinations of parties from Taksi Green SM, the Public Works Agency, Spatial Planning Agency, and the Directorate General of Railways are being conducted at Metro Jaya Police headquarters, scheduled for 10.00 WIB,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, in his statement in Jakarta on Monday.
In addition, Budi mentioned that examinations of additional witnesses from the Jakarta Regional Operations Office 1 will be conducted at the Manggarai Daop 1 Office at 10.00 WIB. Metro Jaya Police have also taken statements from 31 witnesses to uncover the train accident incident at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, on Monday (27/4/2026).
“To date, investigators have taken statements from 31 people, consisting of the reporter, taxi driver, gatekeeper, witnesses at the location, victims, PT KAI operational staff, and other parties who directly knew about the incident,” said Budi in his statement in Jakarta on Sunday (3/5/2026).
Budi explained that regarding the accident case, the handling is now at the investigation stage and is being managed by the Subdirectorate of Traffic Security of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police.
“So far, investigators have conducted checks at the scene, collected evidence, delved into CCTV recordings, coordinated with hospitals regarding victims, requested autopsies, and examined witnesses and related parties,” he said.
