The Drug Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police has thwarted drug trafficking in the Grogol area of West Jakarta. Police seized 10 kilograms (kg) of cannabis as evidence.

“We have secured 2 suspects with initials A (29) and A (28) in the Grogol area of West Jakarta, with evidence of 10 kg of cannabis,” said Head of Section 5, Sub-directorate 3 of the Drug Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police, Senior Police Officer Edy Lestari, in a statement on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

The case was uncovered on Friday (13 March) at approximately 20:06 Western Indonesian Time in front of a restaurant on Jalan Muwardi II, Grogol Petamburan. From the suspects, police seized evidence consisting of one sack containing 10 packets of cannabis weighing 10 kg, sealed with brown tape.

“The arrest began from public information regarding suspected narcotics trafficking activity at the location. Following up on this report, officers conducted an investigation and eventually succeeded in making the arrest and discovering the evidence,” he explained.

The suspects and evidence have been secured at Metro Jaya Police headquarters for further processing. Edy called on the public to avoid narcotics and to report any suspected narcotic crimes they encounter.
