The Narcotics Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) is investigating two cases of money laundering with predicate offences originating from illicit drug trafficking. All criminal assets were seized with the aim of impoverishing drug lords.

“By seizing all assets related to the criminal acts, the goal is to impoverish the kingpins, dealers, and couriers, so they no longer have the financial capability to conduct narcotics business,” said the Director of Narcotics Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Ahmad David, during a press conference at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Friday (26/6/2026).

Senior Commissioner Ahmad David stated that his team seized assets from suspect AA, along with evidence of 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, property certificates for three apartment units valued at Rp 2 billion, Rp 1 billion in cash, and one Toyota Alphard.

“The assets we seized include: first, from the predicate narcotics crime by suspect AA with evidence of 1 kilogram of crystal meth, we seized property certificates for three apartment units appraised at Rp 2 billion. Second, we seized Rp 1 billion in cash and one Alphard car,” he said.

Police also seized 116 kilograms of crystal meth, 90,000 ecstasy pills, and 20 land ownership certificates covering 28 hectares appraised at Rp 5 billion from suspect JI.

“Second, assets seized from the predicate narcotics crime of suspect JI, with evidence of 116 kilograms of crystal meth and 90,000 ecstasy pills, we seized 20 land ownership certificates covering 28 hectares with an appraised sale value of Rp 5 billion,” he explained. “We also seized property certificates for three shophouses with an appraised sale value of Rp 3 billion.”

It was previously reported that Polda Metro Jaya and its subordinate precincts uncovered more than 3,800 drug cases. The evidence seized reached trillions of rupiah in value.

“The evidence secured by the Polda Metro Jaya ranks reached 17.45 tonnes, valued at Rp 1.7 trillion,” said Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief, Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri, during the press conference on Friday (26/6).

The disclosures were made by Polda Metro Jaya during the period from January to June 2026. The police chief stated that the uncovering of narcotics cases, as well as gambling and money laundering, represents the police force’s commitment to supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita programme.

At the same event, the Director of Narcotics Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Ahmad David, said 5,196 individuals have been named as suspects. They consist of 19 people acting as producers, 1,914 suspects acting as dealers, and 3,263 suspects as users.
