Metro Police Investigating Military-Plated Vehicles Using TransJakarta 'Sky Lane'

A convoy of vehicles allegedly bearing Defence Ministry (Mabes TNI) official plates was recorded passing through the TransJakarta corridor 13 ‘sky lane’ (busway) in South Jakarta. The incident, which involved a military police escort, was captured on video and subsequently went viral on social media.

Based on video footage reviewed on Friday, 27 February 2026, two black vehicles with suspected Mabes TNI official plates were observed traversing the TransJakarta corridor 13 route between Ciledug and Tendean, commonly referred to as the ‘sky lane’. The convoy was reportedly accompanied by military police motorcycles providing an escort.

The footage was captured by residents recording from within a bus shelter.

In response to the incident, Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations at Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters, stated that the Metro Police Traffic Division (Ditlantas) is investigating the matter. “This is still being investigated by the Metro Police Traffic Division regarding the purpose of the convoy, including details about the vehicles involved. We will continue to investigate and provide updates,” Hermanto explained to journalists at the National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta on Friday, 27 February 2026.

Attempts were made to obtain confirmation from Major General Aulia Dwi, the TNI Press Secretary, regarding the incident. However, no official statement had been issued at the time of publication.
