Jakarta - The Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has organised the Polda Metro Jaya Night Run 2026 to reduce unproductive youth activities during the month of Ramadhan.

Kombes Pol Komarudin, head of Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, stated that the initiative was ordered by Metro Police Chief Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri.

“The chief has instructed our ranks to conduct various development activities for our younger siblings, students, and young people in each jurisdiction to fill evening activities,” he said.

Komarudin mentioned that the activity is expected to reduce unproductive pursuits such as illegal convoys, street fights, and roadside feasting.

He also expressed hope that the initiative would involve related agencies in mentoring young people.

Komarudin added that the Polda Metro Jaya Night Run 2026 on Friday evening was attended by 195 male and female participants from across the Metro Police jurisdiction.

“Going forward, this event will continue as a regular activity scheduled every two months,” he said.

Additionally, Komarudin noted that today marked the first day of the centralised Operasi Ketupat 2026 (Lebaran Operation).

“This is the initial activity, and it is predicted that in the coming days there will be activities from our community members who will travel outside the region or undertake the annual exodus,” he said.

According to general observations by Komarudin, evening activities across various jurisdictions were quite busy.
