Metro Police Examine Richard Lee's Wife Today: What Are They Probing?

Metro Jaya Police are still investigating the case of alleged consumer protection violations as well as beauty products and treatments involving doctor Richard Lee. Police are examining Richard Lee’s wife, Reni Effendi, today.

“The examination of additional witness Reni Effendi (Richard Lee’s wife). It started at 10:00 WIB (currently still ongoing),” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Friday (27/3/2026).

Budi said the additional examination is to delve deeper into the case being investigated. The examination is still ongoing to date.

“It is an additional examination as a witness to the incident, deepening the previous statement on 16 June 2025,” he explained.

The case ensnaring Richard Lee began with a report from a doctor detective (doktif) on 2 December 2024 with number LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT Metro Jaya Police. Richard Lee was then designated as a suspect on 15 December last year.

Metro Police then detained doctor Richard Lee (DRL) because he was deemed to be obstructing the investigation related to the alleged consumer protection violations as well as beauty products and treatments.

“The suspect DRL was detained at 21:50 WIB in the Metro Jaya Police Detention Centre,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in his statement, on Friday (6/3/2026).
